11. Chrome Extensions — HubSpot Code Inspector
General Information
"HubSpot Code Inspector" is a free Google Chrome extension developed by Revenue Hub Latam. This section describes the privacy practices and data handling specific to this extension.
Data Accessed by the Extension
To fulfill its diagnostic function, the extension accesses the following information only in the active browser tab when the user runs it:
- HTTP headers: Reads Content-Security-Policy (CSP) headers from the active page to verify HubSpot compatibility.
- Network requests: Monitors HTTP requests made to HubSpot domains (hs-scripts.com, hsforms.net, hubspot.com, etc.) to determine which load successfully and which are blocked.
- DOM elements: Inspects scripts, forms, iframes, and meta tags present on the page to detect the presence of HubSpot, Google Tag Manager, and other marketing pixels.
- Cookies: Verifies the existence of HubSpot tracking cookies (__hstc, hubspotutk, __hssc, __hssrc) on the active page.
- Local storage: Verifies that localStorage and sessionStorage are available and not blocked.
- Global JavaScript variables: Detects the presence of global objects like _hsq, hbspt, fbq, gtag, ttq, and others to identify installed pixels and trackers.
Data We Do NOT Collect
The extension does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal or browsing data. Specifically:
- No data is sent to external servers. All inspection occurs locally in the user's browser. The extension does not make any HTTP requests to Revenue Hub Latam or third-party servers.
- No personal information such as names, emails, passwords, financial data, or browsing history is collected.
- Browsing activity is not tracked. The extension only analyzes the page when the user manually activates it by clicking its icon.
- No information is shared with third parties. No data is sent to analytics, advertising, or any other third-party services.
- No remote code is used. All extension code is packaged locally and no external code is downloaded or executed.
Local Storage
The extension uses chrome.storage.local exclusively to store:
- A numeric counter of inspections performed (to display usage suggestions).
- A boolean preference of whether the user dismissed the feedback banner.
These data are anonymous, stored locally in the user's browser, and can be deleted at any time by uninstalling the extension.
Extension Permissions
The extension requests the following browser permissions, each with a specific justification:
